So, I got this digital camcorder that shoots HD video. I’ve kinda been going a little crazy with it, but that may be a trend you see increasing. Sometimes new gadgets become “old” and you forget about them. Sometimes they change your life completely. I haven’t decided if this new digital camera has “changed my life”, but I’m thinking that it might. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see how that plays out. :)
Ok, so the whole reason I started this post is that I shot a little mini-tutorial on how to make Chili. Holly was joking that I should make a video tutorial on “how to make video tutorials”. Then I suggested that I should make video tutorials for “how to wake up in the morning” and “how to keep breathing”. :)

Sometimes I really gotta give it up to the History Channel. Here’s a great segment on how our modern “Christmas” stole most of it’s hoopla from Winter Festivals that predate it:

Since I haven’t been celebrating Xmas for the last 8 years I’ve decided that I’m going to celebrate Saturnalia. It seems far more suitable for my disposition:

Hmmm… now where did I put my pileus?
Oh, and here’s a random vid of me making fun with the washing machine…
io, Saturnalia!

I got lunch today at Moe’s Burritoes. I stopped getting rice in my burrito bowl cuz I feel like it makes me sleepy. One of my recent reinventions has been to try and eat food that makes me feel good, not just eating food because it tastes good, but I do love some chili cheese fries with mustard and onions thrown on top.
In other news… Holly’s mom gave me a love seat, which is pretty rad.
As you might have noticed from the picture above, I’m thinking about taking all my pictures in a widescreen 16×9 format.

There’s a pair of tutorials on Vimeo about FX in OpenTZT.
There’s the standard FX tutorial:
and the tutorial that documents my FX and their parameters:

Ok, so Chili is one of my favorite “make a whole bunch and then eat it every day for a week” foods. It’s especially economical and quite tasty. You can pretty much put anything you want in Chili and it’s going to come out great. For my latest batch I decided to leave out the rice, cuz I think it tends to cause “food coma”. I included ground beef, diced bell peppers, corn, black beans, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, and the pack of chili spices I bought at the Fresh Market.

Caprese Salad is easy to make. You don’t even have to cook anything. You just slice up some fresh mozzarella and tomotoes, put them on a bed of spinach or other greens, and then put on some balsamic vinegar, olive oil, salt, and pepper (I do it in that order so the balsamic soaks into the cheese).
Holly likes some avocado on the side. :)
